Oktoberfest in Mississippi

Mississippi is a culturally rich state in America, famous as the birthplace of the blues. The state hosts multiple small and large Oktoberfest celebrations in its different cities, and each event has a unique vibe.  All the events serve fresh and hot German delicacies, frothy beer in 1-litre steins and the Oompah tunes to dance. 

Most of the Oktoberfest events in Mississippi are held on the weekends, and this celebration also plans fun competitions like dirndl dress or lederhosen costumes to win a prize.

Oktoberfest Cleveland

The event is held for two days in October. It is the largest festival in Bolivar County, packed with mouthwatering barbecue, live music, arts and crafts, and family-friendly entertainment.

What is the Oktoberfest Cleveland?

With the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce, the festival features the highly anticipated barbecue competition sanctioned by the Memphis BBQ Network. The Championship team is given $10,000, while  $3,000 is rewarded to the Patio team.

There is also an exciting lineup of activities on both days, including arts and crafts vendors, children’s attractions, and live entertainment.

Who will be Performing on Stage?

Different artists perform on both days. Joe Garcia & the Big Gun, Ashes  & Arrows take the stage on the first day, while Delta Music Institute band, Variety, the Juke Daddy, and the Cuz band perform on the event's closing day.

Jackson Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest Jackson is the city’s biggest annual event and lasts for two days straight in October! This festival promises an unforgettable weekend filled with authentic Bavarian flavors, lively music, and exciting competitions, all set in the heart of Belhaven Town Center.

What are the Event highlights?

The festivities begin with the ceremonial keg tapping to mark the official start of the celebration. From the first pour, attendees can enjoy special Oktoberfest brews, including the classic Märzen and Festbier, alongside fantastic food from local restaurants and trucks. An incredible mix of live bands and DJs  perform throughout the weekend:

Pair the beer with mouthwatering dishes from one of Jackson’s favourite food vendors, such as poppy pie, wing mouth, Skenny Burgers, and Hickory Pit BBQ bratwursts. 

Is Oktoberfest in Mississippi Worth the Hype?

Oktoberfest celebrations in Mississippi are an enjoyable experience. Unlike major Oktoberfest celebrations in cities with strong German heritage—such as those in the Midwest (Milwaukee, Cincinnati) or Texas (Fredericksburg, New Braunfels)—Mississippi’s festivals are generally smaller and more locally influenced. However, these events are the perfect chance to take out your dirndl and premium lederhosen and dance to one of the folk tunes or just enjoy German food.
